    First solo ride

Woke up thinking, well girl, you've got to get out there by yourself so today is the day! Looked out the window, could see the road was wet but decided not to take the easy way out and to get on with it.

It started raining as I pulled out the garage. Rode down the road and that flipping black cat ran across my path so went around the roundabout and back the way I came - this is to negate any bad luck. There is a story to this black cat and the way I feel about it - fortunately I don't see it often.

Carried on - planning to stay close to home, had a minor slip on Botany Road due to the wet road and then it started raining in earnest. So decided that discretion was the better part of valour and made my way home. The new mirrors are great, can actually see behind me.

I rode into the garage no problem! Its on an incline and I can't see in to it from the road so I have little phobia about it - or rather HAD Just shows what you can do if it's only you and nobody around to help.

I was amazed at how wet I was, it made me realise how sheltered I was being pillion.

So...my first solo ride lasted a whole 16 minutes and about 4kms!

Nice dark wet morning for a first solo! Good to see other people like to do it the hard way :)

    Well done. Another bridge crossed.

Each ride will increase your confidence. Just go at your own pace.

    Well done.
Keep at it, soon you will think nothing of a little bit of rain (that may be a bad thing though)

    Know the feeling...

Well done! As others have said, keep going at your own pace and the confidence will grow. Also, trust your instincts out there.
