    OOPS, over she went

Took the new, (read, bloody old crapper,) FZR 400 to a mates place tonight. What a fuckin larf it is to ride. On the way home, Flame and I had a big section of motorway to ourselves, so I slowed right down and did a couple good wheelies, Flame caught up, and hoisted the Buell past me, (very cool!) soooo, I thought, nah girl, this how it's done, and... oooohhh FUCK! Maybe this aint how it's done. Flame never even saw it, cos she carried off into the distance practicing her technique, totally oblivious to my bruised arse, and our scratched up fighter.

Well, an ambulance with a lovely lady flicks her lights on and pulls over, oh fuck, she'll be onto the cops, wonder if this thing'll go??? Had to push start it, cos the start button aint workin, but away it went, and away I went

Moral is, if your lady wheelies past ya, APPRECIATE her efforts, and dont try upstage her!!!!

Bike is sweet, tail light lense, and another numberplate, (not to worry, the plate was off a CX 500 that the last guy owned, and he dont know who the hell I am ) Biggest regret, NO ONE SAW IT!!!! Oh, and I need to straighten me new bars.

For those who might see this as dangerous and irresponsable behavour, my only defence, is that the bike is only doin 20k's when it comes up, and I was on a deserted road.

I've got the bits to fix it at home, so she'll be up on one again in no time. I'll post some pics of it if I can find a camera jokey.

Bummer mate! Good thing there's not much damage to the bike, or you, apart from your bruised arse! Still, only one way to learn how to wheelie and sometimes it involves overcooking it a bit. Whoops! At least you got to meet a lovely lady in an ambulance. Nurse outfit?

Ahh Fizz, its a hard lesson to learn but I am glad you learnt it.... best leave the wheelies to the experts... like Flame, cause shes a girl, and obviously much better than you.

But Iam glad you are ok.

Yep, I just start to develop a bit of a rep, as that dude on the gixxer who's always doin mint wheelies, (except when I left the 1098 ducati launch, they were shit,) and I go and do this

But, on the bright side, Flames wheelies are gettin bloody good she's gettin the bug bike real high, and keepin it goin for good distance. Think I should retire, and leave it to her. It's an ideal bike for it too, low down grunt, and if it gets too high, shut the throttle off and it's like dropping an anchor, so she shouldn't have to worry about doin what I did too much.

But I think it should be said, that if you are trying to do wheelies, you HAVE to accept that this might happen. Nomatter how good you get at it.

Ouch!! Bugger mate. Good to hear you got away OK. Could have been a lot worse.

I was going to tell you that your Gixer has a fuelling problem that needs to be sorted. I noticed everytime you take off you get a sudden rush of fuel which you might not realise is accidentally causing your front wheel to lift off the ground. Bugger of a problem to fix those fueling glitches. Seems to run in your family too?

We must swap tips one day. Do you cover the rear brake- I like to think I do but in reality it's all over so quick (if it decides to flip), it's unlikely you would get to the brake in time. Best rely on engine braking to bring it back down.

Time for a bit of reflection.

Not wanting to sound condescending (but it will), after the tragic events of December, you were quoted as saying the incident was going to calm you down and think a bit more. Nobody's seen any evidence of this and in fact you seem to be getting looser on the road. Far be it from me to offer advice on safe riding practices, but think about this.

It's great when you can get off and laugh about it, but had you been riding the thou', and the same occured, it'd be a VERY different outcome. Sometimes we get lucky, more often than not we're screwed. Try and visualise that same thing happening at a rate of knots. If it doesn't scare ya, you're beyond help.
