Different rides out of East Auckland?

Hello, I am looking for some variation over the usual Whitford, Clevedon, Monument, Kawakawa roads out East Auckland way. I would prefer a ride (in any direction) that can be done in about a 2.5 hour period. Any suggestions? I would prefer something that is fairly good from the outset and doesn't require say, 2 hours of motorway first. If not could you please make some new roads?

    Thank you.

Lucy, don't take this too harshly, but that is the least helpful reply I've seen on any message board, ever. In a way, that deserves congratulations of some sort. So yeah... congratulations.

Just explore - go down roads you never went down before, even no exit roads....you just don't know what you will find.Go up to the dams and have a look around. Some are gravel, but the GN is a pretty handy bike in gravel....and you'll learn a new skill. It's your back yard, get to know it really really well.

    Dude, harsh.

Have a look at the map - see those lines? They're roads.

See where they are going? That's a destination.

Jesus, if you're not prepared to do some legwork and be original in your explorations, just sign up to an organised ride.

Thanks! I'll take those congratulations, what a compliment. Any message board ever? - wow. Well this is so unexpected, but I would like to thank the academy, my Mum and Dad for teaching me to read. My wonderful team of writers who worked with me on this for all those seconds, without them, I wouldnt be standing here today.

Thank you all, thank you, (cue music)

My name's not Jesus. If it was, I'd know where to go without asking. A map does not tell me the following:
    Condition of road surface
    Average traffic abundance
    Speed cameras/police throughput
    Overall funness of the route
    Etc...

I have done my legwork and found the previous roads I had mentioned. I was just looking for some new ones.

Fair comment. I didn't have much time, at the time, and thought you may not know about that website.

I know your names not Jesus, he is MUCH slower to judge people

So you've done the legwork once - do it again.

Shit, that's half the fun of riding.

(Did I get your name right this time?)
