Well that's my second bin so far, at least I'm alive & could ride the bike home. Ouch my arm and elbows a bit sore but nothing broken.

Thanks to Mav, Mamba, Squiggles and Hanne for picking me and Crazyfrog up off the road. What is it about riding lately, either one of our mates bins or we do.

Had an awesome ride out to Kaiaua, riding home, too fast on a corner, hit gravel and OH SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN. Nothing too badly damaged on Crazyfrog, thank goodness no cars were turning right (or approaching to turn right) or I'd be a bit flatter (as would be Crazyfrog).

What a dick, at least I've only myself to blame - take it easy Chickadee - and watch out for big chucky stones.

Congrats on getting back up, hope the RG is still relatively ok! Wonder how long it'll take them to sort the gravel out in that area. While the gravel section is decently marked last time I was out there there were quite a few loose stones up the road that could catch people out.

Maybe some of The Scottish Rider Who Shall Not Be Named's bin aura has rubbed off onto you?

Hi there,

I know Lucy was interested in how the jacket faired - it seems to be a cat like jacket (9 lives), it's been on the deck twice with minimal damage. Leather (despite being white) would seem to be the right stuff to be wearing if you fall off a bike. Just looks a bit grubby, a few tiny flecks of white leather missing but unscathed to what I would have expected.

My trousers have done their job, think they'll need to be replaced as soon as budgetary requirements allow, they've got a melted patch on the shin area and looks like they've seen better days (trousers are not leather - just cordura).

Anyway I'm off to rub arnica on the ouch bits again.

Ouch! Glad you're okay! Had a couple of sphincter-tightening moments this weekend, one on roadworks gravel on a corner and one touching the inner white line on a corner in the wet!

No major, but a wake-up, yes!
