How about this for a bike cam?

I reckon this could work really good.

Especially with recording direct to SD-Card
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

On eBay you can get one with 2Gb SD for the same money. Shipping is a bitch though.

I have one and it can not handle the sound levels from my open Arrows (S4 Ducati 916) That makes it a bit dissappointing but pix are o.k.

i was lookin at mocking something like that up. ive got the part to go on the bars, and the camera, just need the screw part off a tripod, but cant find it without buying and wrecking one.
what id do is mount the screw part on a metal plate, and then weld it onto the bar attachment. i was meant to have that rigged up for my south island tour, but as above, couldnt find the screw part.

EDIT it says you get a free 1gb card, worth $80, so thats pretty good. ive got a 512mb sd card, and can fit at least 5 decent length videos and numerous photos on it.

Camera tripod mount thread is 1/4"UNC. Standard size obtainable anywhere. Don't need to trash a tripod for that.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Stanko has bought one of those so he might be able to tell you how good they work

2GB SD cards are about 50 bucks these days. 4GB ones are around 90.

i saving for the more exspensive option. More like 2k but is dvd quality uses a 8gb card and is what they use in the race cars for video. little recorder box and bullet cam.

Could you tape some foam over the mic to attenuate the level a bit (or a lot)?

You'll never get good sound from a camera on a bike, you need to dub some music over top, which most freeware video editing programmes will do for you easy.
