Ok well I have put the other cylinder on. It runs nice and strong now, but only for a short period of time. It turns out that the floats are way out of alignment. Should I re align them or just get a new float? The suzuki dealer quoted me $86 for a new float, a little bit steep I thought..

Great to hear that you got the bike sorted. I think that the old cyclinder just needed a good clean up and service.

Hey I never had a problem with the floats, I'd just realign it unless it's got a hole in it.

Oh and check all the pipes off the carbs, I think if one is blockes it will give you the same issue.

Ok, I figured I may as well do the crank seals and gaskets. Hey cheese, there is 2 seals that you included in the spares package, are these crank seals?

One is, it's the Mag side one. The one on the gearbox side is brand new.

Still burnign oil? I'd just run it for a few hours and see how it goes. Is it using oil from the gearbox?

Well I just checked the oil by pulling the oil check bolt out and no oil comes out, so I guess it's sucked in oil. It starts if you spray crc down the carb, runs for about 15-30 seconds. The motor stutters and runs like crap. The plugs are wet fouled. I am real close to getting it running properly. Any ideas?

Good to hear!! I had a shitload of fun on that bike.

    What was wrong?

I think Baileys in hawera had a second hand clutch basket. You really should replace it or fix it ASAP.

I think it needed a good run like you said. I bought a new plug got it running no sweat. It was real smokey at first, but I think that was all the assembly lube, now it has a nice amount of smoke. I am running 40:1, is this ok?
Do you know of any good 2 stroke tuners in Auckland? It could do with a good tune.

Yep I'll sort the clutch out real soon. How much do you reckon they will want for a basket?
