    Pipe for an 07 rm250

Looking at possibly putting a fmf gnarly pipe and stock muffler on my rm or maybe a fmf shorty and use the stock pipe? Any ideas?? i mainly do off road riding gncc etc but i do the occasional club mx too.

why arew you looking for, the Knarly sounds like a better choice for what you do, it will be smoother than the fatty,

whats wrong with the standard one, where do you want more power?

I got a fatty for my old one and it made it go so much better, heaps more bottom and mid end power.

Thanks guys. Scotty its not so much the need for more power but would like more bottom end and the fmf chambers are meant to be a thicker gauge and shiney !! haha What about the shorty rear and standard front idea, any good? Also are there any decent pipe gaurds on the market?

THe pipes are pretty strong, you'd have to have a fair spill to bend it up. I had a FMF fatty and a power core turbine on the rear which was bloody long adn had no worries.

Chop, I've got a Bills shorty which I replaced with a Pro Circuit 304. The shorty was just a little to noisy for the type of riding we do. The Pro Circuit 304 is smaller than the stocker but not a true shorty. The shorty might be ok just for MX, but I did not like it for off road use. I run the 304 with the Bills expansion chamber (nice and shiney) but have not tried it with the stock expansion chamber.
For a little more bottom end try this. At the start of the expansion chamber is a washer/gasket. Get yourself 3x of these and fit them. This lengthens the begining of the chamber and will give you more bottom end. Save your money for more important things.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

the extra exhaust gaskets will work, and if you want a shiney one, HPC coats pipes for abut $80,

i used to run the pro circuit 304 rear and a standard frnt, i find all the pipes made the bike snappier, which made my riding slower as it wheel spun, wheel stood, and wre me out quicker, the bills muffler is quite loud, but well constructed

Just order the exhaust gaskets from a Suzuki dealer. I can't recall how thick they are, maybe a couple of mm. I'll probably keep the Bills pipe as it is part of the system with the expansion chamber. It looks nice. Your welcome to try it though if you want to see if its what you are looking for. Like Scott says, its kinda noisey and I would not advice its use for trail riding and off road use. Even MX these days we need to be a bit quieter.
Perhaps your looking for smoother power? I'm going to fit a flywheel weight to my RM for off road use. I did retard the timing slightly too which helps smooth the power out a little. Just turn the rotor a penny width (2mm) in the same direction as the rotor turns.
I have not played around with the power valve on this bike. Sometimes they can be adjusted to give you more bottom end. Even your air screw can effect the bottom end some. Your likely to get more torque with a slightly richer setting, more wheel spin with a leaner setting. Its a very slight adjustment needed though so don't go crazy. Try turning the air screw in a 1/8 turn.
I don't know of any good pipe guards. I just dented my KTM pipe after 18 months of keeping it pristine. Not sure if it happend at the Six Hour or at Riverhead the week before as I did not need to clean it after Riverhead and it was underneath.
