    Agreed,
The 50cc's can be a bit iffy, the reduced speed has a habit of pissing car drivers off. Also the small wheels can cause issues with groves in the road etc.
And don't get me started on the standard scooter rider only wearing shots/Tee and an open face helmet.

On the plus side I still find my scooter fun to ride, after riding the bike, it feels like sitting on a skateboard, it's so light and small.
Also it's much easier to carry stuff with the scooter as well.

You forgot to mention, "... and you don't have to wear proper bike gear, coz it's only a scooter/glorified bicycle/substitute for a car, etc.."
And unlike bikes, gurrrrlz can wear short-short skirts and stilletos.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

The Posties that do that day after day deserve a medal. There's a little bike with a postal dude on it out our way now and I'll nod to him every time. Respect where it's due.
Haha I wave to the postie bikers too, partly because they're on bikes and partly because I'm jealous and want to ride a (albeit slow) motorcycle for a job hehe.

I too always get perky when someone waves or nods to me, I always give cruisers the super enthusiastic waves just to see what they do hehe

The scooterists on here, they get it. But your average scooterist is like, "Um... yeah... I ride a scooter coz it's cheap/I can't handle a car/Bikes are dangerous". For them a scooter is a glorified bicycle.
yea, that's kinda what i was thinking. it's not a ride, it's just a A to B machine for them

Im sure that my 50cc bike used to go a bit faster when people nodded at me.
The real mystery is how come that fat bastard Hurley has never lost any weight.

Yep, and I've seen this in Wellington.
some of the scooter riders in the CBD are nuts, or maybe they just don't realise the mess a car can make of them.

I ride a Harley, so does my missus, we wave to all and sundry, whatever they ride. I would say that people don't wave, not raise a finger or cock their head for a variety of reasons; often they're 'busy'. In the last few years I must say I've noticed the swing back to this tradition and it's all good.

I thought a nodrog was a small spinny creature mostly seen sniffing around clothslines in the wee hours on chilly mornings in Norfland?...
