    An ethical opinion

RE: NighthawkNZ...........Please dont take this the wrong way but isnt it inappropriate to advertise your new website on this Kiwibiker site ??? ......I thought that when you joined a club you were in it to be a part of it in full, not gather ideas and start your own site usung information from this one. My partner started this thread and low and behold your site almost instantly had a similar thread created on it. If this was a real MC your'd be in major trouble. The term SPY comes to mind. I'm not trying to shit stur or nothing but mearily pointing out an ethical opinion. After all thats what forums are for is opinions. Also I dont understand how scooters became the new topic on this thread, it's all about waves and nods from fellow bikers.

Heh smile on my face reading the story at the start of this thread.
Nodding is good, I prefur it to a wave. I even give nod's to bikes as I pass sideways at lights when I won't even see if a nod/wave comes back.
Thats another thing if everyone waited for the other rider to nod/wave first NO ONE would ever do it. So don't be shy at doing it in fear of getting nothing in return.

On the scooter front I nod to anything on 2 wheels, I do think though that as it happens so infrequently to them, they may not pick up on it? And or perhaps they think we are taking the piss out of them or something.

Still makes me happy cruising around and getting/giving acknowledgements to fellow riders. Especially on busy roads/motorways full of cars, makes you feel special.

This isn't a real `MC', though, is it? While I've been here I've seen plenty of references to other forums (the sportbike/s/whatever forum in particular), advrider etc. I think we're a fairly welcoming bunch and not at all possessive. This isn't really even a club, it's much more loose than that. While I don't doubt many people have a lot of loyalty to this place (me, for one), I think you may have got the wrong end of the stick about this site if you think what Nighthawk did was a problem.

This isn't a college frathouse; we're not here to ostracise and be exclusive.

So now that kiwibiker is offering your own blog, which I have offered since I started the site... to be different... hmmmm (and yes spankme has signed up to mysite) so who is spying on who...?? but neither sites are actual clubs.

Kiwibiker, or NZ Biker , or even NZ Sports Bikes are not clubs, they are a loose gathering of bikers with a common interest, and the forums are a great place to meet, get info, and help others...members of each site are more than welcome to start there own site and advertise it in there signatures like I do with my music sites and biker sites... It would become an issue if I just blantely advertise the site in a post... I may link to an article or my latest blog on a ride but thats about it.

However if the admin wish me to remove it from my signature I will.. I have no issue with that either...

Since my music is spread across 3 or four different sites each site is adverising the other. That way you can easily find 90% of my noise on line... but it is advertising competion sites.

I don't class these two sites NZBer and KBer as competion and can quite happily co-exsist and work together for a common good of the biking community

If you look in the links on NZ Biker you will see a link back here to KBer and to many other sites of interest including many other actual MC Clubs. The way I see it, its basically all about networking.

As for the subject changing in a thread... well that just happens on any thread and any topic and any forum...
