    Talking My 1st bike

    Hello every1..

Just got my 1st bike today, shes a ZXR250.. and my mate told me to join KB to get started and get help.

I'm working on the rode code to get my learners. Went for a ride today around my area, had a few too many stalls

This is my first thread to get me started

    hey ramyy,

Welcome to kb and to the big world of riding.

Take your time and learn at your pace. Lots of wisdom (and friendly abuse) can be found here. Good luck and ride safe.

just some advice mate. as you have the 89 zxr250 why not pull the plastic off for now.. that way if (you probably will.. everyone does ) you drop it then you won't ding it all up! the 89 has headlights connected to the subframe not the front plastic like the 91+ (c model)... might save you some coin and some damage in the future, just keep that in mind. practice in the albany stadium carpark/roads, real good place for it.

    welcome to kb..

Welcome, and congrats on the bike!

Remember you need to get your basic handling skills cert before sitting the learner licence test.

In case you haven't found it yourself - here is a link to the tests online - choose your answers and then the site will score them for you. I found learning the questions online far easier than using the road code. Last time I looked at the tests, they only had the multi choice questions, not any of the give way "picture" questions etc, so you will still need to study the road code for those.

Remember to find somewhere safe, quiet and off the road to practice until you have your learners!

Good luck, keep your cool and practice, practice, practice!

i am doing it in South Auckland, also includes a 3 hour lesson - which i thought was a good idea jsut to get some tips and confidence up before test and also for when riding on my own. But if you are riding all ready you probably dont need review thing - i havent ridden now for a bout 15 years, so think it is a good thing for me.Do a search on google under Motorcycle riding shcools and they will come up - most do just test or test & lesson.
I also had an offer from on of the bike shops to just do the test ( on a scooter in the carpark) for $50 but for peace of mind think i am better off doing the three hour review/lesson on a proper 250. Let me know if any probs and can give you numbers. Good luck either way
