eek Chch help needed - bike for full test

    Hi guys

My bike has a few exhaust problems and I fear that I may not get it fixed in time for my license test next Tuesday. My exhaust nut (that holds header pipe to head) fell off, and after I replace it, it appears that my exhaust is not sealing with the head properly. It sounds like a tractor!

Anyway, was wondering if there was anywhere in Chch that I could rent/beg/borrow a 250cc bike from. I only need it for the test which is at 8am on tuesday.

Alternatively does anyone know if there is a quick fix for the exhaust?

    Thanks in advance!

it comes in a tube and i was going to just smear it around the outside as a cheap fix rather then buy a new gasket

If your bike has a warrent, and goes ok then you wont have a problem with the test.

They arnt exactly going to check it for exhaust leaks just before your test. They only check your indicators, and brake lights (both front and back pedal).

My bike is pretty loud for a 250 and they never questioned it at the test.

Thanks for the advice guys. Managed to get a bit of exhaust cement into the noisy exhaust and its heaps better now. Just have to pass the test then can flick my wee marshin on! Am thinking BMW F650 Dakar or similar. Mrs has been for a few rides on the back of the Marshin and she said that I have to get something that would be ok for two up! Any other suggestions? Am wanting something that I can have a play around on the odd trail yet still have fun on the twisty road stuff!
