An interesting day

Finaly got the call that my fuel tap had come in after 4 weeks being on order from Japan

So I headed off to Moto GB to get it installed, on the way down Turret road my clutch lever snaped it snaped off at the pivot so that the actual handle was only held on by the cable.

I then pulled into Grace road and parked it up, came back later after organising a trailer from the hire place at the bottom of the hill, so the best thing to do seemed to wheel it down the hill on the footpath

But I had only just started to wheel it along Grace road when who was to come up behind me but a Police car, the Cop asked what I was doing as it probably looked pretty suspect, so I explained the situation and he said Ok take care then......

So once I got my bike across the road and onto the trailer we had to drive to Moto GB at the mount so went the back way past the speedway, bike seemed pretty safe in the back, no real hassels on the way.

It is currently at Moto GB waiting to get the clutch lever replaced and the fuel tap replaced which means I am now without a bike for a few days, a real hassel but thing happen.

like to thank Moto GB for being so helpful all the time, great place and great staff, worst part now is going to be not able to ride for a few days

about 5 mins for the lever and maybe 30mins max for the tap...?

but there again I am just a monkey with a wrench!

Why did you stop riding because of a broken clutch lever?

I didn't want to have to drop it into first at alot of revs every time I stopped

There is ALOT of stopping and starting between Grace Rd and Hewlits Rd

Lol - i remember riding for a few months with no clutch cable down that way.
Cops pulled me up on cameron rd cos they had followed me dumping into 1st through 3 sets of lights. when i told them the reason they laughed for about 5 mins.

Na trust the shop and the guy waa pissed sbout the wrong part, but the part has been on arder for over a month with the guy from the bike shop having to chase it up a few times

not much good if ya cant fit them [which i couldnt.] good idea though. disco dan does that.
i did lose a brake lever once [bike fell over.] and it didnt stop me riding, but i did take it in and got it fixed as soon as it happened.

Parked my bike at a mate's place once, left it on the side stand outside, thought no more of it. 15 minutes later, sitting around inside I hear a CRASH! Look up and the bike's on it's side. Damn small foot on the side stand had given up on the slightly uneven ground. Clutch lever snapped clean in two right at the base, hanging off by the cable, amazingly no other damage. Off down to the wreckers who incredibly had one (parts for NZs are impossible to get), $20 later, took it back to the bike and a few spanner turns later, good as new. I wouldn't have ridden it without the clutch.
