    Blah Well I binned it...

AAAAh Feck, it had to happen sometime...

splitting allong the northern this morning... check mirrors... ah biker find spot to pull to let them though no problem... check mirrors another bike wait... check mirrors another bike wait, getting awefully close to the car infront slow up a bit, should be able to split again... check mirrors another bike yikes...

anyway finally clear... very close the the car in front but enough space to get past... as I'm moving back between them... car breaks feck... squeeze break gently "it's wet" next thing on the tarmac... it was that quick...

I'm ok got a brused hand and pride is a bit tender...

Bike mmm broken gear shifter, indicator, broken gear leaver and scrated fairings...

    need to go a shopping...

Bummer, wet weather really calls for caution - I binned my bike in it - same damage to my bike on a bigger scale!!

    Good that you are ok.

Dude - sorry to hear that. Get in touch if you need anything.

Where are you? Anything need picking up?

edit - sounds like a case of not owning the road - your safety always comes ahead of the convenience of others...

Bummer! Glad you are ok though. I must have just missed it, was (in a cage) driving north to Albany just before seven. I commented to the bloke, that it was shiny and wetter looking on the city bound side.

So since our RRRS course, Chisanga, Chickadee and now you have binned. Hmmmm. I shall be treading VERY carefully from now on.....!

    Awww bummer

    Glad you're ok though.
Trouble is there has only been just enough drizzle to lift the diesel and crap off the road to floating on the surface. Unless we get real heavy rain after such a dry spell, things get real hairy quick.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

mmm think the tricky thing will be the gear shifter...

bike is rideable, well got it to work ok, gear shifting is different with the side of my boot...

mmm yeah "not owning the road" especially in the wet...

Nah I would read too much into that...

mine was just a straight forward slip... damp road after a long dry spell, not owning the road... and before morning coffee...

So sounds to me like you got off lightly, heavy morning traffic an off and no tyre tracks on your back! Sore hand and a busted gear lever and indicator sounds good to me.
Good luck with the repairs and hope the hand is painless soon. Sounds like the road owned you!
Seriously though, if you were that close to the vehicle in front you maybe should have not been looking for a splitting opportunity.

Sorry to hear about the bin.

Not too much damage though - those tough Hyosungs!!

If you like we could have a wounded pride/body dinner at our place, Thursday night before a couple of drinks at the pub. Txt me if you need a lift.

    Mac you are naturally invited.

did you get the other peice of the gear shifter???? maybe weld it together,
as a temp fix until you get another one from the recker or brand new, whatever you can find.

nope looked for it... couldn't see it on the road... but MDU gave me a brilliant idea which has already been put into place thanks... Drill hole though end of gear shifter and add nuts and bolt to secure...
