RVF400 anyone ??

Anyone owned or ridden a Honda RVF400 ??

A friend is looking at one and I thought I'd ask.

Looks like a good bike, I used to have a much older VFR400 and quite emjoyed it.

Hi all

The only prob some 30/35 owners may encounter is a blown regulator/rectifier. I just replaced mine with a 2nd hand chunky Yamaha one once has been going strong for years now

Things I love about my NC30.
Great sounding and unique engine (ditch the factory pipe though which makes bike sound like a giant sewing machine)
All round its pretty tough
retro styling

Cons
can be difficult to work on engine cos of V4 config.
18inch rear wheel :S

ill agree with that, and even better then the yamaha one is the 1986ish Honda VF750/1000 Reg/rec, supposedly the best ever, also has control wire you have to wire to a positive line after the ignition./

Oh and spark plugs(little 8mm NGK ER9EH) can be expensive :S

But no-one else is allowed to do this replica in NZ, because I want to (when I get my full or find a good deal! Of course if someone else feels the urge to pay for it I'd be more than willing.

There is the race VFR on Trademe which looks like not a bad deal in Wellington, depends if you are wanting to race it or not I suppose? And the actual condition/km's on it.

And screw you. I'll do it anyway I wanted to do a decent job too it though. Recondition the engine, anodise the frame, Nitrous, matt black fairings, etc. Probebly going to be in the garage half the time untill I get the money for the next part. I saw the site first anyway

Only problem is once I've spent all this time slowly getting each part with my limited funds and making an awesome bike, I'm gonna be bored of its power and want to get a 600 and do the same, unless you can fit a 600 engine in it... maybe a turbo...



This is from buckets and bits. Wonder how much it would be for the complete bike without fairings?
