RV is faster at this race. He is pulling about a second a lap faster than Ben. Lap 14 and its a 20.6 second gap.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Lap 16 the gap is 21.04 and Ben is 30 seconds ahead of 3rd place. I'm guessing the race should be about done.

Well Ben lost points this week. He is gonna need to find some more speed some where. This American kid is fast! Bens fastest time was almost 2 seconds slower than RV's.

    Press release:

    Townley second in Budds Creek.

A sell-out crowd in Budds Creek, Maryland has seen New Zealand’s Ben Townley, post two consistent second place finishes at the fourth round of the AMA Toyota Motocross series.

Townley qualified second to fellow Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki team-mate in the Sunday morning timed sessions and rolled onto the newly positioned Budds Creek starting gate ready for moto 1. With Villopoto getting a better start out front, Townley took a few laps to get past Josh Grant before going after Villopoto. Both Kawasaki riders left the rest of pack in the distance however Townley could not reel in Villopoto and had to be content with second place.

The Motocross Lites riders would have to deal with a slicker Budds Creek circuit in moto 2 as organizers flattened some sections, adding water to keep the dust down in the sweltering Maryland heat. Townley got ousted from the hole-shot by Villopoto, setting up the two Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki’s for a potential ding dong battle. Villopoto quickly came to terms with the slippery track while Townley lost traction and time to his younger counterpart. A carbon copy of moto 1 would see Villopoto taking honors over Townley.

“Ryan rode great today and I can’t take anything away from him. He had two good starts and rode away from us. Full credit to him - I’ve got some work to do for sure. The track was quite slick under the dirt and I was having trouble getting traction in a few places and couldn’t seem to make it work. This has been a good opportunity to race this track before MX of Nations in September.” commented a somewhat disappointed Townley.

Townley heads to REDBUD, Buchanan Michigan for round 5 of 12 next weekend.

    still a primo result

for Ben. He will bounce back. Villopoto allready knows the tracks and has a good advantage there. You can almost guarantee that Ben will clean up at the sand tracks.

Villopoto definately had the upper hand at Budd's. He's probebly ridden that track 100 times.

    YESSSSSSSSS so happy right now
if only sky got the SPEED channel all of our motorbike viewing needs would
    be granted.
maybe we should ring sky and request it, is it possible that they would do that?
I mean i rather pay $13 just for the speed channel than for all 3 sports channel!!
