    Reregister a bike

Anyone reregistered a bike recently? Want to know how much it cost and how fussy they are about documentation etc to prove you own it. Just bought a GT380 with no rego

it will depend on if the bike was de reged or lapsed rego.
if it was crash damaged, and ltsa have it on file you will need to have a crash repair cert done. cost depends on who you take it to!
normal vin is about $100 and rego is like 200 odd.take the plate number if it had one to vtnz and get them to tell you what you need to have done. you will have to prove its yours, you get a sheet to fill out and take down to the cop shop and they look it up to see if its stolen, if all is ok they will sign it off and you need to show that to the vtnz or testing station that is doing your vin.

I just did mine several weeks ago .. had to do a real run around, they wanted to see documentation that I owned the bike .. (she is a free lease with right to buy, so had to bring owner down) did the police report, but they could not find out if it had been registered before ... finally vtnz called their own site & they found it off the engine number ... so you may want to call them with both engine number, chasiss number/vin to see when it was last registered ... it was last registered in 92 ... its easier if you have an older bike & know the previous registration or it will be registered as a new bike, then have to comply with latest regulations

cost just under 400 bucks (that inc regstration for 12 months & wof)
Have to Karma ... Justice catches up eventually !!
