If you look on the ignition barrel it might even have a number you can give to the locksmith and don't even need to bring the barrel in. I had an interesting time on a zxr 250 once when the key (which obviously didn't stay in the lock too well) fell out of the ignition somewhere between tauranga and tokaroa. The ignition stayed on and I kept riding unaware till I went to fill up. I was 400km from home and couldn't get into the gas tank so I brought a 10L jerrycan and 2m of fuel hose from the gas station and tied the jerrycan to the back seat with bailing twine. I taped a large nut to the end of the fuel hose to keep it in the bottom of the jerry can and ran the other end to the carb and thats how I got home.

thats a bit clever eh? heck...kiwi ingenuity eh?

my old gn had an ignition like that...i ended up using a thin chain with a key ring in each end. one was attached the key, the other went around an indicator. got an odd look from the warrent place, but passed ok.
