I am new to riding .... and loving it, but having a few hiccups sometimes with intersections. Done a 'RR RS' course at Whenuapai. I intend on being present at the Mentor evening. I will be riding a silver Qingqi bike - made in China ... being trashed in New Zealand ...

Never found under there to be slippery, but I imagine it would be like ice when wet. Thanks for your imput folks, it looks good. I will go and check it out again on monday at about the time we would get there.

Welcome to KB Diane, will be great to see you on wednesday. The KB mentors have been great lending their time for this each week, and it's good to see people not being scared off by the shadow of winter! The mentor evenings incorporate some of the excercises from RRRS as well as few others. The main thing is practice. The more you do something the better you get at it. You cant come along for 1-2 then run around saying your an expert at riding around cones! We have people that have been riding for years come to just practice, and fine tune their skills. Im sure you will be able to get alot out of the evening!

Thank you for that ..... I intend making use of mentor evenings as often as my night work shift roster at Middlemore Hospital will allow ... that will be the ONLY excuse if ever I don't participate.

    Show n tell evening

Ok folks NEXT wendsday Im going to have a show N tell evening.
BASICLY Im going to pull a whole bunch of bike Bits off of the shelf and show you lot what they are and what they do.
Talking theory is one thing but actually having a carby in bits in front of you is another.
If we have time Ill have a crank/rod piston head with valves cams cam chain from a motor
    A carby
    Clutch
    Brake caliper
    Switch block
Front end out of a bike to show brakes /bearings etc.
and anything else I or HINT HINT anyone else has in their gargre.
    Ill be starting at 7.00

Wouldn't it be better for us to pull apart a working bike to learn on?

    I nominate Disco Dans bike.
