    I'll look into that

If I wanted a 400 I'd go for a VFR (for the sound ). I have the RG for sweet handling (as I'd get so little for it I'm likely to keep it) but I want a bike with more power. One where I don't change gear so often, it performs up a hill as well on flat ground, I can take a passenger, power wheelies, etc. So long is it handles reasonably well I'd be fine (don't want a drag bike)

The ZX7R is also nice and I like the look of that. They're about the same price as Motoracer's R6 though, and that's a nicer, lighter, more modern bike for the money

As I said before, I've yet to test ride one, may change my mind then. Haven't test rode a VFR yet either

Wow, that's a flat out lie. I'm not exactly pro union, but you should tell the NDU http://www.nduunion.org.nz/ what your boss said. I'm not suggesting you join, but that is so out of line it's not funny. I think you'll find many of the full-timers at your supermarket are union members.

Tell me, what is this managers name? Sounds like one I encountered once...

    Anyway, yeah motorcycles.. Voom voom!!

Bernard (enter last name here), the manager of the Upper Hutt Countdown store. High up enough in the food chain to treat me like scum, yet still stocks shelves.

I wanted to join after hearing you got paid more (as a friend of mine at Woolworths is in the union). This goes aginst what I was originally told when I had to choose between the Collective and Individual Agreements as I was told I had to pay for Union running expenses so I'd be earning $1.50 an hour less. I thought F that and went for the Individual, little did I know that I'd be paying that $1.50 an hour for the union, but all union memeber got paid an extra $3-4 an hour over non-union members.

Add in 10 months working there, plus the fact that they won't give me a pay rise cause I haven't had any performance evaluations, they've stiffed me out of $100s of bucks.

    And yeah, bikes rock!

yea, thats basically what i meant but didnt type it out so it made sense

also, i've been riding the 636 around lately - I ride it slower than the bandit

I actually wish I had the Bandit to ride as its easier and nicer and lighter to handle the only downside is the decrease in power but so what it just takes longer to get to 50 or 100.....

What are the cons with them? What's likely to go wrong that I'd have to fix, etc? I've yet to test ride one and when I do I might find it looks cool but it's a pig (but they seem to have some cult status so they must be pretty alright). I've yet to convince my parents about helping me get a bank loan, but they have been impressed by how hard I've been working to try and save up (but the RG tends to suck that money away so I'm still at nothing) and I'm looking at getting a better and higher paying job after my after school job (giving me the weekends free once i quit countdown)
what can you afford a week? can you get insurance for a big bike?

I pretty much can't afford anything... And I haven't contacted Insurance companies yet (although TSS said for the ZX6R I'd have to factor in $800 a year for insurance, like on my old CBR)

I'm earning 120 a week. Currently spend about 20 bucks a week on fuel (and the RG is very very thirsty, I wouldn't be surprised if a 600 is more econonic) and $10 on my phone each month. Otherwise I don't spend much and much else. I don't drink/smoke/get hookers/etc. (well don't drink often)

I test rode a WR450 today. It wasn't as exciting as the 6R even though the WR is probably more my type of riding style. The WR was kinda like a tractor in comparison. But then it had shitty brakes, a stock pipe and knobbies so it wasn't able to impress me in a non-high-revving way. I'm going to test ride a proper motard at Maidstone Yamaha sometime

I'm getting pretty run down with all this school and work. I might not be able to handle much more, and I don't even know why I'm staying at school as it seems to be dragging along and I'm learning shit of no relevance

What year of school are you in? I just scraped through 7th form, basically didn't go for a few months. Teachers kept marking me present since I was for so many years such a good student, and didn't really notice I wasn't there. Getting university entrance was worth it, because then I had maximum choice in tertiary education after school.

Some people say 'Not finishing school will make you a looser', but I disagree. Just don't make any choices yet that are hard to undo.

7th form. I'd like to go to uni, but it's not like the good old days where you went out of interest, learnt something and left. Now you have to pay through the nose... I'm more likely to go to Weltec next year at this stage. Auto Refinishing

I've quit countdown. Still got 2 weeks of work

I don't think things have changed too much in 4 years . I'm not doing working in what I studied; I did politics.

Well I'd rather spend $10k on a SP1 than on a student loan off a course that doesn't get me a job. I was interested in physics but my Dad spoke to a physics teacher at the school he works at and he said that only the top 5% get jobs in research, the rest of graduates become teachers teaching how the sexual organs work to year 10's
