Good grief. 8 weeks of beautiful weather and the first gentle zephyr with a couple of showers and you're all cowering indoors.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Is it just me or are the thresholds for the "warnings" getting lower?

It seems that any rain that lasts more than an hour gets a rain warning these days......... And isn't it always this windy?

It rained for about 10 minutes around 1 today. I think a civil disobedience order was put in place.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

arrived at work safe and sound...wind was fine till i changed direction! i was cowering on the bike, hanging on with everything in me. course, when ya hang onto the tank, the water tends to pool
headed past the local primary school, and a huge sheet of rain did its best to drown me. had to pull off cos the sunnies fogged up, the tail lights i was following pulled over and parked, and i couldnt see much more than the front tyre.

stayed dry for the ride home...just bloody windy. rivers high, and now its thunderin and lighternin out there. and the tvs are all out.

two trips today & both had hail & rain that bad could not see 25 feet in front of you ... branches & crap hitting the truck .. damn glad i was in that rather than on the bike ...

this was no gentle breeze .. or even a strong wind ... but adding hail thunderstorms to the mix .. crap visibility

I just drove down from Hawera, had the bike up there, but fuck if I was gonna ride in this shit.

All the way to Himitangi I was thinkin, "it's not that bad, shoulda brought the bike." Then I was damn near blown off the road, so I turned the radio up, and sang along thinkin, "fuck I'm glad I'm in a car."

Tonight I pillioned for the first time, it was raining heavily, we were riding a GN250, our combined weight was over 200kgs, and visibility was terrible with smeared visors. But we survived, got to Pwalo's house where I picked up my new bike and rode home again. Hooray!

I was the lucky pillion in the mentioned quote above. You rode well big bro. But BLOODY HELL IT'S SCARY sitting on a motorbike as a passenger for the first time since you were 4, especially when it's a dark and stormy night!

To split or not to split, that is the question
