    ZX10R facelift

I have a green bike which is too bloody green for me (insurance replacement) it looks like a toy, so i'm thinking of painting it...like so, with metal flake....any feedback/opinions would be appreciated.

i have a mate that is a car painter so i get it done cheap ($200).

and i'm also fabricating a slash cut dump pipe motogp style, noisy, but who gives a fuck!

there isnt a day in the week that metalflake paint isnt cool. google image search Roland Sands designs to see some very cool paint treatments. among others obviously.

Looks cool, a bit Benelli Tre'ish', and the self supporting rear brake reservoir is interesting

Well, if you don't mind more police presence, getting pulled over regularly, pissing off the general public and extra unwanted attention - go for it!

    Thumbs up

Mate that looks the biz right there! Always good to see an original bike and not a mass produced "item".
I too don't like the green either, mind you the flame job of my Limited Edition isn't much better but looks a bit better without the under tail mufflers, pillion pegs etc

Very cool. Are you really going to paint that bottom green strip on the motor bits just above the clutch cover?
Let me get this straight you have a lime green ZX10R had an accident, insurance company get it repaired/repainted and it's a differnent color green now.
Thats not cricket, I would refuse to pay the excess and make them do it again with the correct colour match.

nope. he had black one that got binned, then got another one and the road didnt like it so it gave it a bit of a doing over, now he's been given one in standard green.

Personally mate i think that looks wicked. If you wanted to go OTT i saw some 'chrome paint' on Pimp My Ride. You'll get mirror finish on that silver strip up the middle... comes down to your taste but i think that would be better over silver metal flake.

Also if your dump pipe is too loud why not fab a resonator/baffle set in the mid section (belly pan part) of the pipe to cut it down a bit?

Oh i see. So it is the factory green that looks like a toy
I guess if you had the black ones in the past then you are not too keen on the green in the first place. More power to ya.
Do it, it has the black you like and a bit of blingy silver with the kawasaki racing green go faster stripes. Everyone's a winner.

Evittwin - that is the best suggestion for a paint job I have seen in some time. DEFINITELY do it.
