Full license test, rain and 120kph winds forecast

    AARG! aarg. AARRGGG!
Yep, I looked at the weather forecast and it's 120kph winds and heavy rain for tomorrow.
My full license test is at 10:15am.
Do they cut you some slack if it's raining and blowing?

"rain and severe northwest gales tomorrow" from Metservice:

RainWindwarning STRONG WIND WARNING: KAPITI COAST WELLINGTON : A period of severe northwest gales is expected Wednesday afternoon with gusts to 120 kilometre/h.
The winds are likely to be strong enough to cause damage to trees and buildings, and lift unsecured objects. Driving conditions are likely to be hazardous
    especially for high sided vehicles.

It was showering for my full test. The testing guy gave me shit for not going fast enough (!!!) around corners in the drizzle.

I guess if you can ride in the rain, you can ride anywhere, and it can only make you a better rider to have to ride in the rain.

You poor bugger, if it was me I'd ring real early and pull a sicky till next week.
Depends if you payed when you booked. The nerves are bad enough on a fine day yet along stormy conditions. Wait till it's andyou'll have a much better

Nope, can't, I paid already and you have to change dates 4 days before the day if you want to change it.
Oh well. I'm a Wellingtonian, I'll be fine!

Just asked the missus (AA) she said that it's up to the testing officer. If they make you do a long ride or short ride it's up to them. A short ride could be down the drive and back... But yeah, if you've paid you can rebook it AND pay again...

Exactly. Riding in the wind and rain is all part of it. Hope it goes well for you.

Just be careful he doesn't give you a hard time for going too slowly if he's a bastard and makes you ride into the wind!

I sat my full this morning in Chch and passed! We had some pretty strong winds (which always seemed to be coming side on for some reason). The tester told me just to drive to the conditions which I took as go at your own pace! We both nearly got run off the road by a nice driver in a white commodore who didnt believe in the right hand rule!

i was pretty bloody nervous about the whole thing but once I relaxed I was fine.

Next task is to find a bigger bike! Ahhh the choices!!!

That would be impossible, I can't ride into the wind, it's a GN, it only goes with the wind. I have to wait until the wind changes, hoist the sail, and then head back the way I came.

ps: im aloud to say that as I lived in Auck-a-loffa for 10 years
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
