At last... She arrived. First basic ride

Finally got my bike today.. a few days late, but got home from work tonight and it had been delivered!

Better looking than in the shop as well haha...

My dilemma was always going to be getting it out of the garage. Half gravel/concrete driveway, steep as anything for 40 mtrs, then hard left hander on gravel, then gravel for 100 metres before a blind corner wall to turn out onto the road. And pretty much NO experience on a bike, let alone hillstarts or gravel.

Needless to say I was stoked - managed a hill start, up and down the driveway, could see the neighbours sneaking looks out there windows.."oh noooo do we have to put up with THAT now?!" Oh yeah baby.

I am hooked well and truly god damnit. Off to buy gear tomorrow.

From an initial nervousness about even getting up the driveway, all fears have been relaxed. I reckon its easier to ride than the little gn125 i did my BHS on. Because its bigger and it kinda "fits" around your body, just feels heaps safer.

Anyway, forgoing the pub tonight to stare at the sexy thing... mmmm....

    it's all damn good

Nice work, now all you need is the gear and you'l be out and legal :-p

My neighbours are the same, I try my best to make as much noise down and up the drive deliberatly to make them close theirs doors, before leaving and coming back to do it all over again :-p Not my problem if they don't love the sound my two smoker sounds.

    Congrats Shady, go hard mate

ps: thats one hell of a drive way for Onehunga

When you mentioned all that I was expecting you were on a farm or something lol, not in the middle of the city
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Congrats ShadyNZ, just remember to watch out for the steep driveway when wet. A good light combination of both brakes will do fine.....All the best

Well done mate, I remeber the first time I rode my first bike, FZR250...I thought I was in heaven. When I first rode it all I could do was rev it out to 18,000rpm...coming for a car I never thought anything would rev that high!.

Keep riding mate, it only gets better..
1990 GSXR 750 - want one, can be crap, can be awesome....pm me.
