Angry Update: Hit and run (but got the rego. number)!

Talked to Police today, they having problems to locate the car (may be they haven’t locked hard enough).
I also drove past his place 3 cars and a boot on the property, 2 car garages with doors are closed so don’t know, may be the car was inside.
I may drive by every couple of days to see if the car shows up.
Hope the Police is charging at least the owner with something, if not its not looking to good for me.
Thanks all for the comments, will keep you updated of any news.

    Cheers Karsten

They'll keep a good lookout while they are out pulling over drivers for speeding.

    Cool Good news:

    Good news:
Drove again past his house and the car was there!!!
Called 111 and 30min later 3 cops showed up, sadly the owner and the alleged driver was not there, however the car has damage on the left hand side and the daughter of the owner was home, she confirmed that the Cousin was driving on that day. The Cops will drive by later and try to get a statement from the driver. May be I am in luck and the car is insured.

Thanks again you all your suggestions.
I will keep posting until I have outcome

    Wink Update:

Police was able to establish the driver, and surprise surprise he admitted his involvement and causing the accident.
Sadly no insurance on the car, I will try to establish contact with the guy over the next days and see if we can come to an arrangement, if not I am dragging him to the court.
Small claims tribunal is not necessary since he admitted his fault.

I will keep posting if I got more news

    Good news.....

Might pay to get a copy of the police report with the driver admitting liability to the police, should you end up going to the small claims court etc etc.
That way you have all the back up and ammo against the driver.

All the best in getting the money out of him...

Now that he's admitted liability, sell it to the debt collectors. Nudge nudge, wink wink.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
