Hey Doug, play the sympathy card while everyone remembers. Ring up the local cop shop, they'll be the one that attended yesterday (should be same section {shift} too). Ask to speak to the sergeant and ask about an exemption for the 636 until the bandit is back on the road. Given your height, you'd possibly get one anyway but that's a bit of a process.

They might just say ok since your full test is only a few days away and they will flag it against your license in their system

Any chance of insurance paying out quickly so that you could get a dunger 150 for a month? I noticed a couple of real roughies on Tardme the other night.

Bugger about the bike damage Doug, still at least you can use it for parts or a track bike with a bit of effort.
Seems like no point in applying for the exemption if it takes 4 weeks to get it and you sit the test in a month anyway.
    Good luck getting it sorted.

Was the other driver insured for 3rd party only? Is not a problem, unless he recants his 'My fault' statement. State will settle quickly if liability is admitted.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

State will end up owning the bike afterwards if it is written off not my insurance company so very doubtful i'll get it back

I am going to apply for an exemption, wont explain the reasons here but you should be able to figure it out
