    Current Wellington Weather

It doesn't really affect me, as we commute in the car, but boy is it shitty weather at the moment or what?

I feel for you guys who ride to/from work. The high for today is forecast for 7 degrees. It's currently hailing, and last night we had sleet, which I'm sure was very very close to snow - the neighbours car was white. And this is supposed to last for another four days.

I'm wearing one of my Icebreaker thermal tops to work this week!

Sorry to grizzle on when you South Island guys have got it far worse than us.

    Being frustrated is disagreeable.

But the real disasters in life begin when you get what you want.

I left home at 6am and it didn't seem to bad. A strong head wind but nothing from the side. Wasn't raining much either.

Just spoke to my wife and it looks to have got worse so I probably left at the right time.

It sure is a bit unpleasant out there. The bike was getting pushed about a bit by the wind on Petone Esplanade but not too wet. I think the extra pair of socks and heated handgrips did the trick. Mind you that car heater and radio would have been nice.

Woke up, listened to the forecast for snow, gale force winds, and hail, and decided this would be the second time this year I'd take a pass on riding.

Coming into work down the route from Hataitai to Marjoriebanks Street, I felt kind of justified with the slips of crap across the roads and the wind making the car buck at the intersections. That and the tick layer of ice on my street from the earlier hail.
Look, it's an itsy bitsy Bandit.

Isn't it just glorious outside? There's a bit of solid stuff colliding with my office window (that looks south down The Terrace). Fantastic!

Followed some keen L-plate rider into town this morning. They were wearing street shoes. Brrr! Must like wet socks. Me? I was in the air-conditioned comfort of the Impreza listening to Radio Hauraki...
