    Spring????

Is Spring here? Out and about in the work car today, must have seen 15-30 bikes ( and who can blame them on a balmy day like this), normally lucky to see 2-3 a day round here.
The two doing 144k had an even better day - no ticket!!

Mutter-mutter - why did I have to be working on a day like this - dry roads, no wind, 15 dergrees plus - and I didn't get a ride

Our morning ride was a wash out but by afternoon it was a taste of Spring on the way. Maybe tomorrow will be a full day of sunshine?
Hope those two lads appreciate how lucky they were Scumdog. Another neighbourhood and they may not have been smiling.

More than a hint of spring in the air in Auckland today. Good to see so many bikes on the road - obviously others took as much notice of the weather forecast as I did...

Yeah I have to agree the weather was a bit stink down your way. A mate and I went for a ride to wellington and were totaly unimpressed by both the weather and the traffic. But we went on some good windy's going there and back which made it worth it. As soon as we left wellington the weather cleared up which was all good

So who else rates the Paekakiriki Hill Road high on the list of great roads? -it being twistier than a politican

Something bout the coppers down your way...... hope it dosent change cos that kinda leniantcy (144 if the rd is empty, good conditions) is a long gone thing any were else.

In 2000 a group of us were comming back from the Glenorchy rally below Quennstown pushing it rather hard through the gauge out of QT, we pulled up in Cromwell at the servo and as we dismounted a copper in a Subaru screamed to a hult at 90* to us blocking the way out...... I thought 'crap' someone heres in the shit if not all of us.
The cop came over and said 'hell guys I saw nothing back there, as I couldent keep up but while I'm here I wana check the bikes out'
We were riding some odd balls like a BB1 Bimota moderfied GPZ1100inj (82) and my CX turbo along with a few others, the cop had a good chat and look around then said 'watch out for the unmarked car and marked car that is working the next stage of our ride'
After he left I still couldent believe it, pitty things are so different now days.
    Scum
    cheers DD

On an empty day it's great. But how often is it empty?

Now the road down to Wainui's south coast: that is a great ride.
Look, it's an itsy bitsy Bandit.

Or you strike Jimbo straightening the bloody thing !!!....

I got out for a ride here this morning as well ... then managed to combine it with a round of golf .... brilliant .... even played well for change ....I have to say it was a bit of fun in this wind, riding with the trundler strapped on the back and the clubs slung over my shoulder .... made all the right-handers very interesting ....
    Roll on summer .....
Say while I think of it ... are there any bikers from Palmy that are into golf ??? Might be worth seeing if we can get a bunch together and do the BBQ and golf thing over summer with a ride thrown in .....
