So I'm sitting on the deck out front of my house drinking a coffee in the sun after work. Lots of bikes cruising by, think 'it's a lovely evening for a ride, I'm off.' 20 minutes later, all gassed up and off I go.
Nice cruisy lap down to Gladstone, Martinborough, Greytown, Home. Ride time just over an hour, distance 96km.
What a ride. Everything came together so nicely. Small subtle movement of weight to turn into a corner, smooth gear shifts up and down, smooth acceleration and deceleration.
All these things have slowly been coming together, especially over the last two or three months, but tonight everything just felt in harmony. I've had a lot of fun rides over the past two years, but tonight felt fantastic and satisfying in a very different way.
mmm I like riding
