    First ride on the road

Today was the first day ive had with my new (old) Honda spada. i started out on a straight stretch of foad to get used to the gears, handling etc. Then i went ito greymouth from where i live at kumara junction. i am finding at the moment that 100kph feels quicker than in a car but that will probably change as i get more experience. From Grey i went out through bodytown (for those who know the area) and round the rangi reserve and out at Paroa. Its about a 1/2 round trip. Lots of sharp corners so i had to keep my wits about me but it was fun. lol Dad brought it over from christchurch and ran out of fuel (still had reserve) at aitkens, so i had to jump in the car with some fuel fuel to put in it. im loving the acceleration and the engine braking is also very good, on the contrary i havent used the brakes much so ill have to make sure i get some practice in. So far so good!

Apart from having enough gas in ya tank, brakes are the second most important part of road riding, it helps your confidence if you know you can stop in a time of need.
