Front wheel drive means the engine has to follow the wheel through a turn. Mounting anywhere else would mean for rear wheel drive, way too conformist.

I've got a little pink girls BMX with a hotrod Minimoto motor in it. 12 inch wheels, even got a crash cage on it.
