Hmm we ride bikes, people think we are lawbreakers already! Helmets mean we just want to rob the place, black leathers means we are all ready to start trouble, KB stickers...well say no more!

I'm thinking of putting in an extra set of different coloured LEDs so I can ride with them on full tit at night ... might put in some black light spots that illuminate the white lines next to me with the glow effect ...

And ... need to put new batteries in my tyre valve flashers for that ring of red!

ooh...bringing out my inner ricer blingness again this thread does!

PS - Stoppit Xerxes, you're just encouraging me when I don't need any encouraging to do this stuff!

"Cosmetic lights" - not illegal so long as they comply with certain regulations..

Section 4-15 of the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual has it all in detail.

It's simple. Go to your local pizza joint, get a Mexicala with triple chilli beans, a six pack of Bud's, give it a cuppla hours and light your farts whilst pointing your anus at some por saps ride! Same shit, different price.

T.I.E. could you show us pics of the bike viewed from front and rear while all lit up so we can get an idea of what on-coming and following traffic sees.

Personally I think that the lights would be great for creating an unusual and eye-catching effect that hopefully might alert the cagers that there is something there.

Certainly would stand out more than just a headlamp or tail light.

    ill get onto it.

ill post some up tonight. and would have thought with many cages saying "i just didnt see him", that a few lights to help been seen would be allright.
long as it doesn't act like a "moth to light" principal.

my partner had blue ones on the underside of the hardbags on his decker. during a 3 days clean, i discovered them under several cm's of mud and crap. lol. had em there, but not hooked up.
this id wanna see. the hard part was having a non-directlighting. as the leds are a bit bright when looking straight at them, so hiding them and letting the glow reflect around is a way better look. easier on the eyes.

your turn big fella. red for you? and i tried the black lights, even painted them black but didnt help make the bike blacker.

Yeah, that's the beef that the SafetyNazis and bureaucrats have, and the reason that my flashing stop lights are illegal. Apparently, brain-dead car/can drivers get target fixation.

I mentioned putting LEDs in my fairings to glow out the vents, and now my son nags me all the time about doing it. I thought having blue glowing vents on a blue bike would look kinda kewl. It would be a piece of piss for me to wire up, as I've got a Blue Sea accessory fusebox under the seat, with a couple of spare terminals.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yet flashing tail LEDs are allowed, even recommended, on pushbikes. Are the safety nazis changing their stories at a whim or are they actually trying to get treadlies run over by target-fixated cagers?

You'd think that if flashing LEDs are safe/recommended for treadlies they'd be safe for all road users - motorcycles and cages alike. Or if they are unsafe and distracting for motor vehicles then they're equally unsafe and distracting on a push bike.

This is an example of the intellect of the safety nazis.

There is a large number of LED brake lights made for motorbikes that pulse then come on steady for "better visibility" - all are illegal here.

Frankly I'd like to see them made legal. Actually, what I'd like is a large pulsing red LED array that spells out "I'm stopping, you fucking retard!"
