The regs do say "diffuse light" and stipulate that the sources not be visible from 60 degrees either side of front and rear extremities. If you get the positioning right you can have a very visible bike that won't get probs from the cops.

thats good info. thanks heaps. knowing me ill be a pain and have the rules with me if or should i say when i get pulled over.

im off to rider in black's birthday drinks when i get back ill take the pics of front and rear.

The sequencer circuit is quite simple and easily found on the web but moving/animated lights are illegal and red lights to the front are illegal so animated red lights to the front would probably justify the use of deadly force...
