    Taa-daaaa!!
Here I am, alive and almost well.
Had a few unanticipated aches and pains this morning, like a sore ankle, and a pulled muscle down my right side, but not too bad. Head still aches, but not bad. Looks like my helmet hit the road where the corner of the visor aperture is - both the visor and the cover have gravel dings in 'em. Also, the helmet is hardish there, due to the pivots for the visor, strap fastening points, etc.

Took the day off work today because of the head cold more than anything else. Wife was off sick too. This is the first time we've come down with a virus at exactly the same time - within hours at the most! Weird. Of course, she went a bit spack at me last night, more because I didn't tell her about dropping the FahrtSturm until about 8 or so.

Had a good look at it today, and did some fixing. Everything looks back to almost how it was, apart from some scrapes on the fairing, and the crack, which it turns out was a pre-existing crack, not glued properly! The confirminators managed to be ressembled and straightened, due to the rubber mounts, so apart from the road grating omn the underside of the front one, they look OK again. Brake pedal required some heating with the hot-air gun on high, then some judicious bending with a 12" wrench and a monkey wrench. Muffler filed up nicely with a fine file - can still see it, but it's OK. Covered some of the scrapes/scratches with lurid red nail polish - not quite "Italian Red" but better than it was. I'll pick up some touch up paint in spray can sometime and do it properly.
So it cost me nothing to "fix" it - it has some minor battle scars, but that's what you get for being a plonker.

Oh yeah - and I polished off some black rubber marks from my boots - one on the left of the tank, and one near the front indicator, and another on the right cowling (but that might have been there before).

AMPS: (Lou) Thanx for the offer of the Buell indicators. If I do any more asphalt surfing, sounds like they'll be HEAPS better than the $110 Honda ones (fecking rip-off they are!)

Yamahamamaman: Yup I'm interested in the helmet - it's my size, by chance! PM me with the details. Mine's 'all right', but I should really bin it. It's over four years old, and a bit dodgy. I know AGV's are supposedly crap, but my head's become moulded to the shape.

Loosebruce: Can't go see Kerry about the indicators - he's the one who fitted my pads, and it's too damned embarassing telling him I canned off less than 2 minutes after riding off...

And thanks everyone for your kind wishes and helpful advice. I was feeling very dispirited last night, and thinking I was dumb sticking with motorcycling. But the camaraderie makes it well worth while. I must meet some of you soonest.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

No stress mate, and tell the wife I know where she's coming from too.

I think you look lovely in that shade of nail polish too, sweety.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

If I say I'll be there, I'll probably miss it, like the last 2 things I said I'd turn up to. So. I'll just materialise, without saying anything to tempt the gods....
