Seriously recommend Rider Skills!!!!!!!

For anyone out there looking to learn to ride or wanting to do their BHS certificate for a learner licence, I seriously recomend these guys.

Turned up today with almost no experience and within a half hour was riding around cones in the car park learning everything I needed to pass the test.

Right from the start, the guys were friendly, helpful and extremely easy to understand. All of the instructions were clear and easy to follow.

We spent 1 and 1/2 hours learning to control the bike. This included stopping on command, slow riding in a straight line, slalom between cones, riding a curve with indicators and much more.
At the end of that time there was a 10 minute practice of the course before things got really serious.

The Test!!!!!

This was the thing that had been concerning me as I really hate practical tests in any form. Often I can do something untill I have to show someone.

But I am happy to say I passed!!!!!

Next up I need to get my theory then I can apply for my learners and seriously start practicing.

COST FOR THE COURSE

$120 including lesson and test.

COST OF ONE ON ONE PRACTICAL COURSE

$220 (this involves riding on the road with an instructor who is within radio contact at all times. Recomended for building confidence after getting a learners licence.

Great. I'm booked for the lesson + test on april 7th with them, though i've been riding my street and local carpark quite a bit now and feel confident i'd do ok in the test, I'm sure there will be lots I can learn from these guys.

I seriously new nothing. Would be happy to ride around our local streets now knowing I am in control. Can't wait to get my learners.

Possibly the next step may be the rider training at Whenuapai Airbase. From all accounts it is great. My lady came back telling me things it took years to learn on my own- like how to manage intersections and other drivers actions and behaviour around motorcycles. $50 for 8 hours of intensive practical and classroom time from some exceptionally patient instructors.
I escorted her there, and because the course starts at 8.30 on a Sunday morning, there was FA traffic.
It was the slowest ride I have ever done getting there, no worries. Time to escort her home and we did the speed limit all the way back- so it has to be good.

Yeah, well you have to get there on public roads. And as much practice as you can may help, but you can go again for half price if required.

Well went online and did the bike test and passed with 100% (ok i admit it was the second atempt).
Not bad for never reading the road code lol
