    I think you have learnt something.....there was no obvious cause yet your tyres lost traction and gravity sucks (actually thats two or three things).
    As McJim says, look to your tyres first. A good tyre will give you notice its going to lose traction and will let go controlably, it is up to the rider to recognise these things happening tho.....

    Don't agonise over it, its part of learning to ride and gives you real street cred!

    I think alot of us are in this trend. At least you werent doing something stupid like I was a couple of years back riding in a singlet, binned it on a corner and got gravel rash all up my right arm and shoulder... Definatly a hard lesson learned, was picking stones out of my arm for a few days.
    Your just jealous because the voices only talk to me.
