Thompson's track is not too bad for a bit of a play...about 10k south of TeAroha along the Kaimai ranges
Built for speed, not for comfort

I see people near the traintracks quite often (between Kahikatea Drive and Greenwood/Norton Rd) they ride up and down them on some weekends (there's normally two of them).. PM Carver. He might have a better idea

There's 2 good rides on next weekend out near raglan, sign posted from the Te Mata turn off and theres quite a few more coming up out those ways over the next couple of months. Also another ride near Te Awamutu this weekend, signposted from Kihikihi at the left turn heading out to mangakino.

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.
