Now this is more like it, I love it when you make your meaning as clear as this. I support your meaning entirely, cheers for that.

i often watch high school kids txting on their way past work while scootering. dickheads. im glad this one got what was comin to him, without the aid of a car. sure...stop and make sure hes ok, and the scoot can be ridden. and then knock him on his ass again and give him a right bollocking!

have recently noticed the teen boys over the road scootering everywhere with their lids undone. both are very intelligent boys...lots of brain smarts. their mother has given her permission for me to box their ears next time.

Goodness theres a lot of varied opinions here! Thats OK. Im usually not like this. I am a very courtious rider/person and do stop and help people. Its in my nature. A few personal things were going down and I didnt really feel like stopping. Betcha it won't happen again.

I'm not usually anti scooters but since all the students got into town things have gone haywire. Ive seen guys texting, causing road hazards and generally just being idiots. I supppose this was the pinical of my frustration.

I appreciate your concerns about me not stopping for the guy. I would have stopped if things were serious. But it seems he came off very lightly and it probably would have shocked the hell out of him. I know for a fact that if I stopped he would have started ripping into me. Who knows what I would have done. It was a bad day BEFORE I encountered the idiot and I was worried if I had stopped and he had ripped into me, then the boys in blue definitely would have payed a visit. *Envisions scooter stuck in a tree with guy attatched to bike on motorway*

RE: No WOF or REGO. Yes I agree its a silly thing to do. I just had the bike fixed up (only owned it a few weeks now), its running really nicely and is completely safe. Only thing I actually need for a WOF is a mudguard.... It would be concerning if the bike was a bomb. But really, its my choice if I want to do this.

With a bike you hardly need to use the brakes due to the lovely engine braking. I'm not too sure where you're going with this post but I see myself as an aware, safe rider. Thing is he didnt slow down, he just jammed on his brakes. I guess its one of those things you had to be there for. It is easy for someone who has been riding for quite a number of years to be saying this I guess.

To be fair you couldn't reasonably anticipate them falling off when you hit the (air) horn. Shake 'em up sure, but coming off was their fault... they demonstrated their lack of control.

    BUT

    Not stopping to help?
    No Warrant?
    No Reg?

    Respect from me?

You didn't make them fall off, but you should have helped them up.
I didnt really post this to gain respect. It has however become really interesting how people have displayed different levels of moral fibre. All I can say is that I still beleive this guy got his just deserts and my personal opinion is that I did the right thing.

Thanks for the comments guys! This little story has become a bit of a joke around friends now

    My opinion:

I don't really care about what you did or what happened, but I've learnt from being a parent myself that everyone else is someones daughter, son, brother, sister, father, mother, etc.

If it was one of my children you did that to, I can firmly say that horn and whatever else is of usable size on your bike would need to be surgically removed from your anal cavity before you took your next shit.

    Just a bit of perspective.

    Go tough guy !!

Would you insert your son or daughter's cellphone in their anal cavity for texting while riding as well ?

I still fail to see how or why a sensible/qualified rider would fall from his bike/scooter if someone tooted their horn at them and it apears the guy deserved it(the toot that is).
Ok the guy on the scooter was/is obviously an idiot for txt'n whilst riding...does he deserve to fall? No...but he didn't have control of his bike so he did.
From what I read earlier in the thread Speeding Ant did see the guy get up and as it wasn't a high speed incident...all's well and lets hope the twit learns something.

In the old days parents would have told their kids that it serves them damn right, that they were being stupid and derserved it. This was back when we taught our kids about personal responsibility.

Texting on a scooter? Yeah, I'm not at all surprised the tard came off, his attentions were obviously not on the road. With guys like him about, no wonder there's so much hating on us nifty fifty riders. Still, the proper thing to do would have been to stop as soon as you saw him come off and make sure he was OK.

I love my scoot and no amount of KB hatred is going to change that, but at least I think I have enough sense to not ride like a complete reject. We're not all bad, promise!

Is it a scooter thing or what - I saw someone on a metallic blue scooter doing this is Miramar today too, the most worrying thing is that it was around 3pm so there were kids everywhere and the rider really should have had all their attention on the road.

    If it was you
Soooooo much to learn, but having fun doing it.....

Agreed. Come on fellas, let's not let our frustrations destroy the need to help each other out on the roads.
