    Front-wheel drive

In the spirit of doing it with number eight fencing wire, I give you this photo. I have a couple more from the side.

It is a bicycle converted to have a front wheel drive petrol engine. The engine is small and 2 stroke so I'm not sure if this should be posted in the scooter forum, but I see this having great potential in dirt / trials riding.

Any ideas on how that would have steered?

well there is a reason they stopped putting the engines on the front wheel like that on the bikes of yester-year...

Anyone remember the Power Pac. In those days the 'bike' to have was the Ducati 50cc. Pedal start...............still had a great sound.

Didn't Yamaha fit that to an R1 as well?

They did it to an R1,but I haven't heard how it went.On the dirt bike the front wheel was only driven when there was a certain amount of rear wheel slippage, kinda like some high tech 4wd cars work.Unless you were spinning up the rear out of corners or in icey conditions I can't see what the advantage would be on a street bike.

Wouldn't that do rather bad things in a powerslide?
