Dealt with them recently via E-mail, Bryce had the bits I wanted, reasonably priced and prompt. Friendly E-mails with good advice. Just goes to show they are not all bad and when treated with due respect they return the same.
You may not make millions out of motorcycle parts but if bikes are your thing, you want to work with them, then making millions is not the only issue. And if the lifestyle fits, you will be in the motorcycle industry then the business would be awesome.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

They've NEVER responded to ANY of my emails. They have only ever answered their phone once in the ka-zillion times ive tried to call them.
You must be special or something!! Or maybe he was gonna make a decent profit of you or something.

I've got mates that know Bryce from way back and have no problems with service there, but even they agree that he doesn't seem to like people he doesn't know.

A good mate of mine rang them one day and said he was coming out from town to get a certain part they had. He said he would be there within 2 hours. Around an hour later he pulled in to the shop just as they were walking out. They refused to open the shop back up and proceeded to get in their car and leave.
Maybe he thinks you are stalking him or something.

I can only say Ive had the best service and help from Bryce, and its a shame hes moving on. I hope the new owner is as good to me.

200k doesnt seem too much, thats only 20k per year to service the debt and you could be happy as a pig in shit for the rest of your life.

Hmmm, I think that's the whole issue. How do you get to know someone who won't respond to polite emails? I've never been able to buy anything off him since I started riding.

I think their e-mail address may be different to that advertised on some other linked websites - a return e-mail I got said to use the e-mail off THEIR website. Might explain the lack of response.

I find in my job, e-mails are easily ignored, especially when asking a difficult question..........

Still, without buildings, let alone land, I can't see $200k.......and there can't be much goodwill judging from the comments here.

I thought Bryce was difficult in the beggining, but it later occured to me, that he deals with morons every day, I'm not being a prick here, but some of you who've tried to costom his store, fit this bill. "Have you got the thing that goes from the foot peg to the motor?" That kinda shit would put me off customers too. Then there is the age old, "Yeah mate, I'll take it". Then not showing up with the readies.

The guy does most of his business online, why bother dealing with the fucktrards who call?

Also, in all my dealings with bike shops, in various capacities, I've never in my life met someone with his knowledge! The guy is a freak with knowing what will interchange between models, and even brands.

Brenda, the lady who answered the phone, (more often than Bryce that is), is also well clued up about bike bits, and had a wicked stock knowlege. She was always nice and helpfull on the blower, even when Bryce was in a less than tolerent mood for the punters. Stu is lucky to have her at his shop.

To sum up, dont bag a person for not being suited one aspect of thier job, when the excell at every other task required.

I found him very helpful, hell, he even came outside and fixed an electrical fault for me that I wouldn't have found the cause of by myself in a million years. No charge. Another time he gave me a list of contacts for other stuff I was looking for which he didn't happen to have.
Top bloke. I don't know what some people here must have said to him to piss him off.

You don't have to say or do anything to get on the wrong side of Bryce. You can pay in advance for something you've specified exactly, from a tyre to a sprocket, only to turn up at the site to be told he just sold that to someone else. Tough.

Yeah thanks Drew. You ring him, say I'll take that 140/80x17 Bridgestone Excedra you've got on the website.

    No worries.

Turn up and wait 40 minutes after initial contact to be shown a tyre that was advertised as legal, with absolutely no tread and the canvas showing.

    Yeah, I'm the idiot.

Brenda works at TSS now, and she's always been awesome. I think she got sick of apologising to people that had been sworn at for asking a simple question.

Malcolm at Econohonda can match you up with anything you need and knows Honda product inside out including interchangeability, and doesn't feel he needs to make a point of being a bastard to deal with.

Malcolm is absolutely magic to deal with. I don't have much experience with bike shops, not having big enough bank balances to bother entering such places, but there's a lot of people in the mechanical service area that could learn a lot from Malcolm at Econohonda.

In many fields (computing comes to mind) it seems that if you know a lot about a particular subject, then you should make sure that not only does everybody else know this, but if anybody wants your expertise you should make them feel as small as possible.

In saying this, I've never dealt with Bryce or anybody else there.

Good point, to those who've said it's not much of a business without property or plant, it comes with the lease of one of the buildings, and a lease/option to buy the other. Supplying your own tools to do a job is how it works so nothing out of the ordinary there. I'm sure a glance over the books would show a handsome proffit, with the way Bryce has been running it, and with a motivated person in control, it would be a very lucrative prospect indeed.

The business is solid, established, with enormous stock, and the only one of it's type in Wellington.

Bryce might have put some off using Buckets and Bits, but the fact that he's remained in business for so long, is only evidence to make the business a better prospect.

Hi Fizzerman, Well it has been suggested to me many times I should join and respond to some of the shit slung at me on here......so here I am. But I prefer to ride my bike on the road not the keyboard so won't be dropping in that often and no doubt will be slow at learning system. Cheers Bryce from Buckets

Hi Jim Mate, Just done quick search back on your posts and funny how you had lots of good things to say about me before the day you felt I inconvenienced your wife. And since then a barrage of untruths and lies. So the statement above would be one from a coward who bags me and gets someone else to buy tyres from me, for yourself ?????
