mmmm...tunes... have a MP3 player and on long solo trips i listen to Slayer, Pantera and Megadeth. have a socket and speakers in my helmet so i dont have the earphone thing happening. and no, its not loud. can only just here it at 100kph but i can still hear traffic.![]()
The Decibel level in your helmet will be horrendous. You only get a very limited number of chances with your hearing. Screw it up and it is screwed forever.Originally Posted by Blakamin

nope... was a roadie in the early 90's for Icehouse and been an audio engineer (SAE) since 94 .Originally Posted by Jim2

but glad to see some people care enuff to mention it, because I musnt be the only one doing it, yet i have a clue![]()
Still not convinced, but they're your ears.Originally Posted by Blakamin

(got custom-fitted plugs when the need arises...long trips etc.)
Yeah! Go Joe Satriani!
I got the G3 DVD last year, with Satriani, Vai, and Eric Johnson.
Honestly, all my friends think I am wierd becasue I listen to music that was around long before I was born (I am 14), screw them, Go Metal!
Well, not all of them, my friend who is on here, Alarumba I believe his name is, is a big 8 Foot fan, I can't say I like them though. Oh! And Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne!
It is a pity there are no new decent musicians these days... Pop, and it's close cousin Pop-Rock piss me off no end. And rap. Especially rap.
Rock On!
Damn drummers. Noisy buggers - I've nearly ruined my hearing having to wind my Marshall right up to compete with loud cymbals...Originally Posted by Blakamin
Music is for driving cages. Some of my favourite driving albums:
Cult - Love (Rain is a great track but Love is my favourite)
Disturbed - Believe
Radiohead - The Bends
Leftfield - Leftism
The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation
Sublime - Sublime (1st and only album)
Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Soundgarden - Superunknown
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Wasnt G3 Vai, Satriani and Malmsteen???Originally Posted by madcat_

If you're going to play with shit drummers with no technique or social skills then that's what happens.Originally Posted by celticno6
Very simple trick that works for any noisy situation. Don't turn up, turn down. Works every time.

Ah come on now, there's definitely room for a bit of subtlety with your music...Originally Posted by Blakamin
Not every album has to be 4/4 riff-orientated head thumping driving rock. Although it helps
Actually, my music taste is very wide. I just like radiohead. Ed O'Brien is one of the most original and versatile guitarists out there.
And for sheer emotive energy is pretty hard to go past a track like "Bones"
Actually, my favourite band of all time is Jane's Addiction.

You're spot on there Jim.Originally Posted by Jim2

As for dummers with technique AND social skills. That's always been a tricky one...
every time you find a really good one they go and explode on you.![]()

Cruisin music? My god the names that I recogised Abba and Bon Jovi you got to be kidding. Maybe this is a sportsbike thing but if you going to be cruisin' down the highway on two wheels at least respect your eardrums with a good ol' biker band. Joe Walsh, Grateful Dead, James Gang, Lynard Skynard etc.
Me, 1 Last Dance with Mary Jane, Tom Petty
2 We're an American Band Grand Funk Railroad.
Heaps more, but keeping with the sports bike thing I'll go with
Hawkwind. Music to fly too.

Free Scott Watson.
Joe Walshhhhhh?????? Can't sing, can't play guitar Joe Walsh????? Sheesh.Originally Posted by Skyryder
I like Bill Bruford's Earthworks for cruising music in the car. I also (shame) love David Lee Roth's Skyscraper on long trips.
