I wanted the freedom to explore the new area I had just moved to. I had been thinking about it for a while, had finshed uni and had a job and income so could afford one.

Now I'm into it, I keep riding for the freedom to explore, the camaraderie, the desire to improve my ability, and that satisfied feeling you get when a ride just comes together and you're in harmony with the bike and road.

Yeah, I understand that one. A lot of people say to me, 'it must be cheaper than the car.' Well no- I travel much, much more now than I ever did in my car, just to go for a ride.

Cos my wife told me I was a lazy unmotivated so and so and I needed to get off the couch. Thinking I was being clever I said I would buy a motorbike - to which she agreed! Went out and bought my first bike the following day and haven't looked back since. Now she complains I'm not home enough!!
Why would anyone choose to drive a car!

I grew up on them. Semi rural, cousin (and Favourite Uncle) lived on a farm which I spent far too much time on.

Graduating to a bike of my own was beyond challenge. It HAD to happen. And it did.

Dad had them, I wanted them.

And I like to go fast, cheap. A car that'll go as fast as my bike, would cost two years income, my bike cost two months

Transport AND fun, all at the same time, a novel concept.

And when just for fun, so much fun.

You mean to say I had a choice not to!

So - 40 years labouring under the delusion that it was just what happened when you reached a certain age ......got born....eat food......went to school....ride motorbikes.....discover girls.............ride motorbikes............

Don't analyse....bikes (& especially scooters) should be bought with the heart, not the head.

Actually I've found cash, or HP is the best option.

    coz

because i got fed up with being stuck in a steel box in traffic and all these bikes are getting past me without a hitch plus i grew up on them and unlike cars where the most dangerous nut holds on the steering wheel, we like to find out what our limits are and face our fear with the knowledge that all other bikers are family unlike steel box drivers they break down and no one stops to help them except the police to do a qvr on them.
