Initially because work was shifting to another part of town and I didn't want to pay for parking. Then the bug bit. I'm sure ppl at work get tired of me talking about riding, lane splitting and lower fuel costs. But I'm the one with a grin on my face after riding to work. Morning traffic is sooo cool.

HHHmmm... because it's the only time I truely feel alive inside!! I can feel my bloody pulsing in my veins, I can hear my heartbeat, I can feel my muscles working in unison. I can feel the wind in my face & buffeting my body, I can smell the fresh silage, & dodge suicidal bumble bees. Coming into a corner, being well set up.. correct speed, gear & line.. manouvering round it, in perfection.. blasting out the otherside & onto the next one.. is nothing short of orgasmic! Being at one with my bike & the universe. Being in control of myself & my destiny. My bike is my soul.. to be without it, I would wither & fall like an autumn leaf.

That's why do I do it...

I have five vehicles in my name, all of them purposeful, three a lot of fun and of those three two are bikes. If it never rained, if I didn't have kids and wasn't renovating a house I wouldn't need anything with four doors and a towbar. ie; I'd own nothing but a bike or two. I can ride a lot further than I can drive, it's a workout that I really enjoy and never get tired of. Weird question........

Only one reason; Petrol was too expensive and I was poor.
I had the scooter mentality, it was just a way of getting around cheap.
But my reasons have changed now, I swear!

Old man had one, Uncle had one, older cousins had em and when I had the money, I had one too. I was 14 then. Got my bike licence at 15, got my pilot licence at 17 and my cage licence at 19. The planes became a job, the cage just moves me and my family around towing trailers and stuff and the bikes.....well they have allways been there, can't imagine life without em.

I grew up on a farm, and learnt how to ride quads at the age of four/five. About ten years later the old man taught me how to ride a bike. Joined the navy, got my licence, got a bike. Besides, on a bike, everything is at your fingertips, and you can feel the road. In a cage, I personally find that things are placed all over the place - hence why I only have the bike...

Mention getting a bike for transport when in teens, the folks went nuts.
26yrs old, and the one of our cars craps, and it went from there, cheap bike for a couple hundy.
And the riding quickly become a love.
Even more so now with my machine that both looks me in the eye with

I got my bike licence a few years after getting my car one in the late 70s. I did it using my brothers bike (XT250) as I didn't even own a bike. Then I got a XR200 to get to work on and mainly used it as a cheap means of transport. I was not very good with trail bike riding so I got a road machine and have never looked back. Being on the open road was addictive and upgraded over the years and still riding. Not so much a lifestyle but more of thing I just enjoy doing.

My first experience I can remember was sitting on an old jawa bike I think it was...and for as long as I can recall have always had bikes.

Didnt start riding until around age 8 on the farm....back in the day...

Having a bike has been a way of life. It's not my primary transport but its a good passion of mine.
