Surely the parts could be ordered ex japan though without too much hassle? Looking to use it more on road as a commuter, maybe chuck some road tyres on, but still have the option of having a fang offroad. It's not gonna be used for hardcore motox or anything. Gonna get the shop to check it out this arvo to make sure it's all sound anyway. I jsut saw there's a 1990 xt600 motomart's selling.. would one of them be a much better bike than this?

you can order parts from japan, and most comsumables match up with other kawasaki bikes so they are availabe,

would be a not bad commumter, but having to mix gas would be a pain in the ass, the XT600 would be easier to commute on,

Dude, if you want a road bike buy a road bike, if you want a dirt bike buy a dirt bike.
If you try to buy something that will do both you will end up with something that does neither well!

Already got a road bike. After something else to just be able to generally hoon around on and have the option of a bit of off-road here and there.. might end up in my garage anyway after the shop checked it out and gave it the all clear! Found out it's oil injected too afterall.

Most people just remove the oil injecter and premix.
