I'm tall, 6 foot five. And have an exemption to ride after ten, what is your actual question?

Some exemption to do with being tall?
To split or not to split, that is the question

info is all over the place at the moment, I plan to write an FAQ, given its asked about so much. The key here is Mcduck5n wants to know about learner exemptions, when most talk about restricted, but its still been covered.

7r was sold early march. On to better things (FI was a priority)

    Heres what i wrote

I send this letter in with my exemption application and it was accepted. Note that i mentioned that i was going to ride a 400cc ( i am only allowed to ride the one 400cc on my learners, not any bike i want. ) They called me to check this. So dont expect to apply and be able to go ride a hayabusa, it wont happen.
Anyway, this is what i wrote. It's not the exact copy i sent in but its nearly identicle. I remember changing a bit of it but i cant remember exactly what part. Nothing major.

"I am applying to get an exemption on my learner motorcycle license so I am able to ride a 400cc motorcycle on my learner license. I wish to be granted this because due to my height I believe I am unsafe on a 250cc. My height, of 191cm, causes me to become unstable on a 250cc motorcycle, even in light wind conditions due to 250cc motorcycles being quite a small frame. I find it hard to turn tighter corners as well because my top heaviness and posture on a 250cc makes it hard to lean into the corners and therefore unsafe for me and anyone who is coming in the other direction. I have owned two 250cc motorcycles both which were quite big for 250cc. I have got into situations where I have felt unstable and unsafe on both of the bikes. In slight wind conditions, even when trucks drive past, I have been nearly blown off. I mainly believe this is because 250cc bikes are quite light and that my height and my centre of gravity are quite high so that wind catches me a lot easier. These two large 250cc bikes are designed for the Asian market where riders are on average are quite a lot shorter than me. The bike I would plan to ride is 400cc (Honda GB400). It is suitable for a learner because it is roughly the same power of both the previous 250cc bikes I have owned but is quite a bit heavier and more stable for a person of my size, mainly because of the size and weight. The larger frame on the 400cc allows me to gain the correct riding stature which I previously felt I could not achieve on a 250cc because of my height and the 250cc frame’s size and weight. I mainly use a motorcycle to get to and from Polytech to study. It is a 35 minute ride between Te Puke and Tauranga and there is no public transport. It is for these reasons I am applying for an exemption to the Graduate Licensing System."

Lol Mark247, I'm taller than you and can ride an RG150 without any trouble cornering/wind/coolness factor.

I think cost is a big thing too, you can get a really nice low kms 400 for the same price of a 15 year old 250 with super high k's. Anybody should be able to send a letter like this.

"Hello, I can't afford $6000 for a 15 year old 250cc bike with 80,000kms that is capable of safe acceleration (ie faster than a GN250). I can however afford a 400cc bike in good SAFE (sort of lol) condition with 40,000kms on it due to their not having retarded super high 250 pricing AND enough power to be able to avoid danger. Give me an exemption please, cheers."

I think i will base it around my size width wise. When you are wide and tall you end up with big numbers lol
