The throttle cables give it away.
Can't say that aluminium frames get me all excited. I just hope they continue to make them.
Spose if they continue it will be like the kawasaki's and will basically just produce them each year with no changes![]()

the RM250 did not get sold in the states, this year,
writings on the wall, the europeans might have saved the 125 with youth classes being 125 only,
bit sad really, i will missw the 2t's when thier gone
great photo shop job on that, tho,
ok they must have relented to pressure, good to see,
as the US mags had said they were gone,
I know the SUzuki off road team is moslty if nto all on RMZ's this year

OFF-ROAD - Davis Wins Tecate Hare Scrambles

In what could not be called anything but "perfect riding conditions," Ty Davis, Scott Simon and Jamie Lanza filled out the podium at the Tecate Hare Scrambles, held in Tecate, Baja. The day saw everything from downpours, hail and snow flurries in the near-freezing temperatures. It was, however, epic and what the Tecate is famous for. While this race is not part of any organized series, it's always been consider in the off-road community as one not to be missed and a real challenge for anyone who considers himself an off-roader.
In the KTM Challenge Pro Race, Davis showed the young guns what experience is all about, as the veteran won the race convincingly - by a couple of minutes. The Tecate also was the debut for Davis aboard his new Suzuki steed for 2008. Davis was mounted on his new Malcolm Smith Motorsport/ZipTy Racing Suzuki RM250 two-stroke. While he had only ridden the machine twice before the event, he said, "The bike worked very well for being bone stock. It's was the right tool for today, I'm impressed." Bike aside, Davis was riding phenomenal and looked like the Davis of old. When asked if he even broke a sweat, Ty laughed and said, "oh yeah I did, but it's a great event and a lot of fun. I love this."
Podium companions Simon and Lanza placed second and third, in that order. They looked to have a considerable disadvantage riding 450s, as the race was three hours long and had some very tight technical terrain. The Tecate race has been famous for it's billing of "1000 turns per mile." The race is run over the old Tecate 250 Enduro course, which was considered the toughest race in the west.
Simon exclaimed that he had never ridden anything like this before, but it was, "Awesome," he said. "I really enjoyed doing something totally different, this was great".
Lanza said, "It's been so long since it rained in Southern California I had to have my dad throw some dry dirt in my face to get comfortable."

There were also two RM250's in the pro class. I want to see Paul Whibley on one. I know he likes two strokes. But yes Suzuki are pushing the fuel injection eh?
i had a covnersation with Jason Wagient last year at Anaheim about Paul in the GNCC's i told him he would be heaps quicker on a CR250, he said he would like to see it and could believe me, Whibs loves those bikes,
Yeah i wish SUzuki would put him on a RM250, or at least let him choose so in the races it is quicker you can ride one,
but the seem to want to push the RMZ's
and did you notice in that article that it was a Malcolm SMith Motorsports bike, they are a shop in California, interesting he is riding though them and not team suzuki off road
