    RG's are great bikes. I want to upgrade now but I hope to hang onto the RG

    Make sure you get one with working powervalves. If you can't tell, get someone who knows RG's to test ride one you're interested in. I made the mistake of buying a lemon, and it cost me a few hundred to get sorted. Now it's sweet, and with my new VFR400 shock it handles even better

    I've already bought the bike but I've got no idea about the powervalves, bike seems fine, any advice on how to tell if theyr shagged?

    Take it to 12,000 rpm in 3rd or higher. If the powervalves are fine then you will know all about it atleast by 11,000
