[QUOTE=Stickchick;1013253] and also my workmates are a little standoffish to the newbie.QUOTE]

That's a bit slack of your workmates; when I moved to Hastings in the early 80's it was my workmates who became my best buddies. (I actually dated one of their sisters for a year or so.) In a matter of months I met heaps of people, went to countless BBQ's, parties etc. I have no idea what kind of work you're in but those people should be dragging you all over town. The Hawkes Bay region was good to me, it's a great place.

Probably. You sound familiar with that 'syndrome'.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

im the same as stickchic...dont socialise with workmates outside of work. if i run into one in town, ill have a quick yak, but nothing more. most time ive spent with them outside of work was a coworkers funeral.

stickgirl....the mstrs gang will fix you up!! im dying to meet them myself, so your lucky! enjoy napier...everything will sort itself out soon enough.

Hey Jodi if you can handle me and Jimmy, then you can definately handle the Hawkes Bay crowd. Just bite the bullet and go meet them all and you'll be sweet.

Mstrs and Yungatart aren't that bad - honest!

Go out into the middle of the busiest road you can find in Napier (foot traffic wise) start screaming "STOP LOOKING AT ME!!!" over and over and over again.

    Problem solved....

    hmmmm....

well... don't feel bad. I've been in Palmy for 3 years and the only friends I have are from auckland except for few of my workmates...
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........
