    Have a new machine.

    I bought meself a '91 XR250R today.
Wasn't expensive and is a way of still being able to ride a bike with my condition (which prevents me riding on the road).
It's been relatively okay looked after, no smoke and no rattles (so I'm fairly sure it doesn't have the cursed cracked head these can suffer from), but I'm going to give it a top to bottom going over including oil change, lubing etc.

Should be quite different to ride than the Moto Guzzi

Hey NM, that's a cool way to stay biked-up. Talking to Quallman1234 in the cafe at Martinborough yesterday about how far you can go on the firebreaks ... sounds like you could ride forever. Not a bad way to get a fix at all!

Awesome glad to see you get to go & have a blast. At least you can take this one mud plugging. Just don't let the other half follow you on the Guzzi

She's getting more and more confident on the Guzzi. Last weekend she took it to Feilding and back which is great.

Anyway here's a pic of the XR250 (and now she wants one too, so better start searching...)
It's nothing flash but mechanically it's fine.

Thought that was a good idea. Silver bullet have all the rides on events page. Sandy pines is a great ride next weekend. Sadly I have two other events on that day but if you can make it do.

    Now we're talking NM!

Glad to hear that although the road is out, off-road is still able to be pursued!

    Enjoy ...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Thanks Peoples.

I'm unsure of the ghey purple gaiters though, they may have to be replaced...
And I'll get it some tank stickers, but she hums along just fine (well, up and down the road so far !!)

It sounds like good news all round.
Mrs getting to be one with the Guz, you riding again and you getting a pair of XR's.

SDU and I have had many a great day stuck is some mud hole together.
And yes the clothes stay on, no time for that, hill's to climb and river's to cross and all that.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

    Thanks lemans.

I'm currently looking for another XR200 or 250 for her so we can do just that.
My very first bike was a CR-80 so it's like my childhood is coming back to greet me.

I had an IT400. That had a rather snappy power band too. Like "snappy your neck"...
