    Bar-end mirrors

Thinking about getting some of those mirrors that screw into the end of the handlebar.
    The small ones

Anyone know of a place in NZ that sells them.
Checked TM, can't see any, checked the local bike shop and they look ugly and huge.

Saw some guy advertising on TM a while back but can't recall his website url.

Anyone got any pics of some on their bike?

I brought Napoleon Bar End Mirrors off the net for my GB. I think this is where I got them.

I use Napoleon Bar end mirrors on my bikes. They look specially great on Ducatis and they work brilliantly - almost vibe free.

Beware if you are a bit of a lane splitter though.

Checkout shots of the new Ducati Sports 1000 models . They tend to show them on those always.

Motomail in Auckland has them in Chrome and Black ( about $70 each)

Is your Speed Triple the 2007 model Dooly cos I noticed that Triumph have changed the mirrors to what looked to me like they would be better than the style that is on the 2006 model

Nasty got bar end mirrors for her FXR, they were great for seeing behind if a little vibratory. The only downside was losing the buzzy-bar weights to make way for the mirrors. It did take a while to get used to the stronger vibes.

We got them from Sawyers in Welly for about $37 (I think) each. They had one and ordered the other so I'd say they're available

Bar-ends are the BEST! I got the Napolean chrome style ones. About $NZ45 shipped from eBay US. Agreed, lane-splitting can be a problem -- soon after I got them, I (very lightly) tapped a guy in a Pajero stopped at the lights (was too busy looking at my left, some cunt on my left was encroaching). Got a (deserved) earful from him.

If you get the old-school ones, like the Napoleans, take the left-hand mirror off. Looks cooler, you don't need it, and it's narrower for lane-splitting. With the miniature billet aluminium ones like I think you want that's not applicable. The miniature round billet ones are hot.

I agree, classic Ducatis seem to suit them down to the ground.

How actually do they lock into your bar ends??

I think the idea is tops - just got to figure out what to do with my present skull bar ends...

Well the ones I've got fasten in the old-fasioned way -- you have open-ended grips (or you cut a hole in your existing ones), then you poke the fastening thing inside the bar ends. It's basically a bolt, with a nut on it, that when you wind the bolt (thus moving the nut inside), it pushes a metal cylinder wider and wider until it grips. Mine is made from low-grade aluminium and is absolute shit.

The nice round billet ones tend to actually clamp onto the bar itself. You just move your grips and controls about 20mm towards the centre of the bars to make some room.
