Aprilia RSVR finally has a Rider custom seat!

Well after two months of owning my RSVR 1000, I've finally put a Rider custom seat on it! I'd intended to do this since day one and simply haven't got around to it.

When I first bought the bike, I asked other KB members for ideas about what I should put on my seat. I wanted it to be different from my previous seat and someone suggested I incorporate the Italian flag into my design.

At first I couldn't figure out how to do this because the original seat was red and the red part of the Italian flag wouldn't show on red vinyl. :spudwhat: So instead of ditching the Italian idea, I decided to replace the red vinyl with charcoal.

I had already modified the foam in the seat to try and lower the bike for my short arse self. When we did this, we discovered a huge flaw in the foam about the size of a bread and butter plate. No wonder it had been uncomfortable!

For those of you who may be interested in something similar, this type of customisation (rider only) would cost about $170 + GST.

So far, the feedback has been very positive - what do you think?

The second to last picture is a Maisto model I imported and it's identical to my bike, including the blue wheels!
The last picture is the flaw in the foam.

    That is quite frankly, superb.

But... but ... it's not in the shape of my hands... (it's still pretty cool though)
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

Simple but very nice, the red accent at the rear edge and rsv lettering is sweet

Easy - just reuse the logo from your bike. Even better, you can use any logo you like.

    Hi Nigel,
The cost for redoing your GSX-R seat, including remodelling the foam will range from $160-200. The exact price will depend on what type of embroidery you want, i.e. how complex it is and whether our embroidery place already has your logo or needs to digitise it.
If you'd like to discuss your seat further, you can contact respond to this PM, email mac@trimit.co.nz, or phone 07-578-7903.
    regards Mac
